Cover Reveal: “Eternal Flame”

Ok, by now, you all know I'm not a frequent blogger. I update once in a blue moon when I have news to announce. But that's all right. What I really like doing is not to write blogs, but to write stories that you all love to read. And today, I'm super excited to announce my upcoming new release, Eternal Flame. This is a stand alone story spun out of the Rose of Anzio series. I'm planning to submit this story to Amazon's Kindle Scout program this week, so will have more details about that soon. In the mean time, here's a peak at what's to come.   Eternal Flame ~ A Rose of Anzio Story ~ by Alexa Kang *  *  * "Last night, I loved you a lifetime and more." 16-year-old Julia Olsen’s world is falling apart. Her quarterback boyfriend broke up with her. Her family’s new home under renovation is a mess. Her high school counselor won't stop harping on about her grades. A time-traveling WW2 soldier crashing into her room is the last thing she needs. In 1944, 18-year-old Edmond Ferris answered the draft and headed to war in France. A chance discovery brought him home to Chicago…in 1989! He's back in his own room, except a strange girl is living in it. She drives a Japanese car and she listens to Milli Vanilli, a German band.  Is their encounter an error in time or a will of fate?  Find out in this timeless tale of two…

e-scribes Editorial Review of Rose of Anzio Book 3-Desire

e-scribe.com recently reviewed Rose of Anzio Book 3. I am thrilled that they liked it. Here is an excerpt: "Kang depicts both the horrors and fears of war alongside the softness and subtleties of romance as if they were born to marry—despite the obviously immense challenges of polarising imagery. We see the many facets of war, not just the battles but also the personal struggles and decisions faced by troops and commanders, and those they encounter along the way. Kang has the unusual skill to place the reader inside the characters’ minds as if we are reading their thoughts and seeing through their eyes. Thus, it becomes, soon, not a tale, but our reality. Kang is unafraid, too, of weighty narrative; she does not shy from the depth required in order to depict the severity of the situation, nor does she once falter in recounting fine details. There is no hiding behind superficial froth; this is as incisive in its historical accuracy as it is heart-rending in its romantic themes." Michigan Avenue Bridge 1940

Last week, someone said this about the cover of Book One-Moonlight: "Your Your book blurbs says the story is in Chicago 1940. Why isn't your cover a picture of Chicago? Looks like a picture of some exotic city." Ahhh...but the book cover of Moonlight does show Chicago. It is a view of Michigan Avenue Bridge circa (more…)

Chicago 1940

Rose of Anzio ~ Moonlight begins in the summer of 1940 in Chicago. Back then, the Chicago Board of Education produced a short film about this city, which gives a visual glimpse of the world at that time. When I wrote the story, I imagined Anthony and Tessa's presence everywhere in these footage.
